| ===== Fish Likelihood ===== | ===== Fish Likelihood ===== |
| Certain baits and lures have a Fish Likelihood attribute. When a fish is being determined, it first checks the current rarity. If the target species is higher than the rarity, then it moves up the fish rarity by 1 level by the likelihood percentage until it reaches the rarity. Within the same rarity, the species selection is weighted to match the fish likelihood attribute. | Certain baits and lures have a Fish Likelihood attribute. |
| | |
| | \\ |
| | Based on the bait or lure being used when the fish is determined, if you are confirmed for likelihood by being within the "likelihood range" with your random integer (between 1 and 100), then one of the following things may happen: |
| | |
| | \\ |
| | Option 1: You’ve pulled a rarity that has a fish of the likelihood group in it. If it has multiple, it selects a random one. This results in you catching one of the targeted fish. |
| | |
| | \\ |
| | Option 2: You’ve pulled a rarity that does not have the likelihood group in it. If this is the case, then the outcome is as follows: |
| | |
| | \\ |
| | 2a: If the rarity is a higher rarity, then it will cycle to a lower rarity until said rarity has a fish in the likelihood group. Then it will lock it in. |
| | |
| | \\ |
| | 2b: if rarity gets to a common after cycling downwards without a fish while not going through every single rarity already, OR is a common from the start, then it will cycle through higher rarities descending in something called the “likelihood retribution”. This is not guaranteed unless 100% likelihood. There is a distinct formula for this part for each rarity to make sure it’s evenly distributed per rarity. |
| | |
| | \\ |
| | 2c: If cycled through both of these without selecting a fish, then it will just give you a random fish of the original rarity, like normal fishing behaviour. |
| | |
| | \\ |
| | Note: the system also automatically knows what rarities have the fish in them because it filters all the fish out after confirming the likelihood group, so it only goes through the ones it’s pulled |
| |
| For example, using {{:bait_mozzarella.png?28&nolink}} Mozzarella Cube has a 80% Murray Cod Likelihood as the only mythical rarity fish in its location. If a common fish is rolled initially, it has a 80%(rare) * 80%(epic) * 80%(legendary) * 80%(mythical), or 40.96% chance to become a Murray Cod. If the target rarity is lower than the initial rarity, then the initial rarity is applied. | |
