Hawaii is the 13th unlockable location of FishOnMC. This location has a long and large history impacted by Japanese immigrants and its industry got shaped by the native fishing practises.
Real Life History
Hawaii its fishing industry got mostly shaped by fish markets and fisheries, both foreign and locally built over the years.
Many Japanese who were
skilled commercial fishermen lived in Hawaii and turned to the sea to make
a living.
In the early 20th century the fishing industry got widely impacted due to new laws to preserve local fish resources, the Japanese fishermen were unwilling or unable to make a career switch and their lives got heavily affected.
Today annual catch limits get put in place for specific fish or coral for
commercial fisheries on the Hawaii islands
