Contests and Tournaments

FishOnMC has fishing contests that happen once every hour, on the hour. In a fishing contest the challenge is to catch an as big as possible fish of the fish group that the contest asks for. The contests last 30 minutes and the top 3 fishermen with the biggest fish receive varying rewards.

Tournaments happen every weekend from Friday at 18:00 UTC to Monday at 18:00 UTC. They can be hosted in any location; however, only a select few fish can be chosen (any mythical and select gamefish in other rarity ranges). It is decided based on a wheel spin held in the FishOnMC Discord.

To access the tournament screen, use /tournament.

In a tournament, you only have a limited number of catches (2.5k) at the location to fill the 5 slots in your bag with the biggest possible catches of the target species. Most tournaments are in weight; however, some fish are counted by length.

Catches of the target species are automatically recorded in your bag. When you catch a bigger fish than one that is already in your bag, it will replace the smallest of the 5 with the new bigger one.

There is an option to disable contributions so you can fish at the location without it counting towards your limit. However, if you catch one of the target fish, it will not be counted in your bag.

There are 5 Tournament Brackets: Beginner (Levels 0-29), Intermediate (Levels 30-89), Advanced (Levels 90-149), Master (Levels 150+), and Global (ALL).

A tournament series is a competitive event that is made up of 8 tournaments spanning across 2 months. When you compete in a tournament, alongside the placement reward you receive in your level bracket, you also receive trophies based on your Global placement. The amount of trophies collected over the 8 tournaments in a series determines your Grand Tournament Rewards.
