Armor
Armor is one of the main methods of progression, providing Fishing Stats and multipliers. There is one armor set for each climate with their stats only being applyed when in the corresponding climate.
Shards
Armor Shards are used to craft and upgrade armor. Each climate has its own shard. They are obtained in a few ways, the simplest being a rare drop from fishing based on your Prospect. Hard Quests and placing top 3 in Contests also reward shards for their respective locations.
Unidentified Armor
To craft armor, use /craft and follow vanilla Minecraft armor recipes (excluding helmets). Once crafted, armor will be unusable until it is identified at the Identifier NPC located to the left of spawn.
Identifier
Once you have made your unidentified armor you will need to take it to the Identifier NPC (or use the command /identifier if you are sailor rank or higher).
With the unidentified armor in the Identifiers Armor Slot, click the Identify button, and it will be given its quality, ranging from 1% to 100%. The quality value directly influences the armor bonuses you get from its stats. The higher the quality, the better the armor.
Currently, an armor's percentage cannot be increased once it has been identified, so if you are not happy with what you got, you will need to make a new piece and try again. The unwanted pieces can be sold to other players on the Auction House (/ah) or brought to the Scrapper.
Scrapper
If you get a piece of armor with a quality you are unhappy with, you can take it to the scrapper behind the identifier (or use the command /scrapper if you are sailor rank or higher).
Doing this will give you shards back based on the percentage of the piece and the original crafting cost of the armor. The higher the percentage, the more shards you get back.
Forge
When you have a piece of armor with a quality you are happy with, recommended to aim for 90%+, you can upgrade its tier with shards in the forge located to the right of the scrapper at spawn (or use the command /forge if you are sailor rank or higher).
Increasing the tier increases the stats given by the armor as well as unlocking another bonus for you to roll.
The costs to upgrade are as follows:
Current Tier | Next Tier | Shard Cost | Total Cost from Common |
---|---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() | 16 | 16 |
![]() | ![]() | 48 | 64 |
![]() | ![]() | 96 | 160 |
![]() | ![]() | 256 | 416 |
Armor Bonus Rolls
Each tier of armor gives it one bonus roll slot that gives the armor an added effect.
To activate these bonuses, you right-click the armor in your inventory and click on one of the Empty Bonus slots. This turns it into an Active Bonus with a random percentage between 0.1% and 10%. Each slot gives a different type of bonus.
You can click the active roll slot again, and it will re-roll the percentage and what bonus it gives you. However, re-rolling costs money, with it getting more and more expensive the more you roll. The amount it will cost does cap out based on the tier.
Below are the types of bonus and max re-roll cost for each tier.
